Safer South Africa Foundation invites you to walk or run the distance and make a difference. Participate in a Walk/Run For A Cause with your family, friends and colleagues and walk in solidarity with everyone who seeks to build a safer, inclusive and confident South Africa. “Run, walk for a good cause,” says Gen Riah Phiyega, Safer South Africa Foundation’s CEO, “for your health, your community, your school, for the welfare of the marginalised, for South Africa and any other good cause you might think of.”
“We encourage civil-based organisations, private business, government bodies, and individuals to participate in our annual Walks or Runs – it is only when we stand together that we can build a greater South Africa and create awareness to show that crime, drug abuse, discrimination, and ignorance have no place in South Africa and cannot stand in our way to nation-building and social-cohesion,” says Gen Phiyega.
In 2018, Safer South Africa Foundation partnered with Deaf SA and the City of Joburg, to host the second annual Silent Walk/Run. Silent Walk/Run brings together the deaf and hearing communities and participants are challenged to connect in order to promote the learning of South African sign language and inclusivity.
