At Safer South Africa Foundation, we are dedicated to improving the integration of local knowledge and research-based evidence into policy-making. We work with researchers, think tanks, civil society, donors and governments to develop capacity for policy influence and evidence-informed policy-making in the Criminal Justice space.

The Foundation, through its Policy and Research programme, undertakes and commissions research in relation to community safety and crime prevention, in particular to guide and underpin policy and practice.

Our policy advice, when we engage government structures,

is underpinned by research evidence and by consultation with local communities and organisations on lived experience.
